Dangerous Driving Glasgow 6 Penalty Points

Our client was accused of travelling at 110mph in a 60mph limit and 90mph in a 40mph limit through road works, contrary to the Road Traffic Act 1988, Section 2 (as amended) aka dangerous driving. It was all caught on camera and the police officers were adamant that they were correct.

A serious case which required some pretty serious lawyering. We reviewed the footage and were entirely convinced that the lily had been gilded...

Ultimately, the case called for trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court on 10th December 2021. Our Mr Simpson attended and was able to persuade the Crown to reduce the charge to careless driving at a speed of 90mph in a 70mph limit with no reference to the 40mph section.

The Sheriff accepted that our client's standard of driving was not too bad and endorsed his licence with 6 penalty points and fined him £640.

An exceptional result in a tricky case.
