Case Dropped Due To Lack Of Public Interest

Our client was involved in a utterly bizarre stand-off with the police.

His wife's car had broken down and he'd arranged for its uplift via his insurer. The recovery vehicle arrived. As did the Keystone Cops...

The police officers insisted that they would have the vehicle uplifted as it was 'causing an obstruction', and ordered an uplift via 911 Recovery.

Ultimately, the police prevailed and our client's insurer's recovery vehicle was sent away empty. Our client had to pay around £200 to secure its release and was charged with a statutory breach of the peace.

Representations were made to the Procurator Fiscal by our Mr Simpson and, following some persuasion, the case was dropped.

One of the stranger cases we've had to deal with.
