Edinburgh Failing To Stop And Report

This matter proceeded to trial at Edinburgh Justice of the Peace Court on 13 August 2021 and was dealt with by our Mr Lyon.

The charges involved an allegation that our client knocked a motorcyclist from his bike and thereafter left the scene of the incident without leaving details or reporting the matter to the Police within the appropriate time-frame.

The client denied the allegations and had a positive defence to advance at trial, however, the Court didn’t get to hear about that side of the case as there was held to be ‘no case to answer’ due to a failure on the part of the Crown to adduce sufficient evidence of identity.

Our client was found not guilty on all charges.
