Dangerous Driving At Airdrie Becomes 4 Points

Kept Licence
Airdrie Justice Of The Peace Court

Our client was prosecuted for dangerous driving contrary to the Road Traffic Act 1988, Section 2 (as amended). The Crown case was based on poor weather, excessive speed, and failure to maintain an adequate distance from the vehicle in front causing that vehicle to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

We received the papers and it seemed like a lot of trumped-up nonsense.

We discussed the merits of the case with a senior Procurator Fiscal Depute who was persuaded that the standard of driving was merely careless.

Our Mr Simpson appeared and persuaded the Sheriff that the driving complained of fell at the lower end of the spectrum.

Our client's licence was endorsed with 4 penalty points and a fine of £200 was imposed.
