Dangerous Driving Charge Deserted in Oban Sheriff

This case called for trial on 3 June 2019 within Oban Sheriff Court. For whatever reason, we often deal with cases in Oban where an off-duty Police office witnesses a piece of driving and then elects to submit a report in connection with the matter. This particular case involved dash-cam footage of a brief incident involving an overtaking manoeuvre which the Police alleged was dangerous. The footage was less than convincing and the Crown agreed that no criminality was shown in the footage and the case was treated as not called. The case still took around five months to conclude but our client left court relieved that the case concluded in a manner which left his driving licence unaffected.
