Dangerous Driving Stranraer Reduced To Careless 3 Points

Kept Licence
Stranraer Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was accused of dangerous driving by travelling at 73mph in a 50mph limit, contravening double white lines, overtaking when unsafe to do so approaching the brough of a hill.

We were instructed to try to find a way to allow our client to continue driving.

We received all of the evidence in the case and persuaded the Procurator Fiscal that the driving complained of was careless as opposed to dangerous. Following some gentle nudging the plea was agreed.

Our Mr Simpson attended at Stranraer Sheriff Court on 1st September 2021 and delivered a plea in mitigation in the absence of the client.

The Sheriff accepted fully the mitigation that was presented and endorsed our client's licence with 3 penalty points (the minimum prescribed by law) and imposed a small fine.
