Drink Driving 9 Months Disqualification High Reading

Reduced Sentence
Glasgow Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was charged with driving whilst in excess of the prescribed drink drive limit. The reading produced by the intoximeter was 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The present limit is 22 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. We were instructed to tender a plea of guilty and, following representations made on our client's behalf, a ban of 12 months was imposed together with a referral to the DDRS entitling our client to a further 3 months reduction in sentence upon successful completion. Net ban of 9 months which we consider was an excellent result in the circumstances.
