179 Reading In Blood Drink Driving Charge Stirling Not Guilty

Kept Licence
Stirling Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

This case involved an allegation that our client was driving on the A81 Callander to Glasgow Road whilst the proportion of alcohol in his blood was 179 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The current limit is 50 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. When the Crown seek to rely upon blood analysis for conviction there are some evidential hurdles which need to be overcome. In this case the Crown failed to do so and our client was found not guilty following the success of our technical defence.
