Dumfries Licence Saved 109mph M74

Kept Licence
Dumfries Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was detected speeding at 109mph by means of a VASCAR check captured on video. At this speed we had advised that a disqualification was almost guaranteed.

We thoroughly investigated the case. We were able to determine that the VASCAR check was incorrect by reference to the video.

Several complicated mathematical calculations later (performed by a suitably qualified expert) and we were able to enter into meaningful discussions with the Crown regarding equitable resolution.

This case lasted for well over a year but we were able to agree a plea to a reduced speed of 100mph.

The matter was ultimately disposed of at Dumfries JP Court on 13th August 2020 by the imposition of 4 penalty points and a fine of £500.

Experience prevailed. Job done.

Sheriff Rejects Police Evidence In Speeding Charge

Our client was accused of speeding at 101mph on the M74. There was no risk to our client's licence and was defended solely on a point of principle....
