High Speed Low Penalty

Kept Licence
Perth Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

This individual was caught travelling at 105mph on a dual carriageway section of the A9 north of Perth.  In any jurisdiction, such an excess of speed would pose risk to a driver's licence, however the court at Perth has to be especially cognisant of the potential consequences of high speed on this particular road.

Our client chose to plead guilty at an early stage to secure the maximum discount in sentence and, allied to the fact that we were able to persuade the Crown to amend the complaint to 100mph due to certain issues with the method of speed detectioon employed by the police, endorsement by way of 6 penalty points was secured.
