Our client had been charged with dangerous driving involving excessive speeds on the M80. We had always taken the view that the speeds involved in this particular case were insufficient for a conviction for dangerous driving and the Sheriff agreed with our position and proceeded to convict in relation to the statutory alternative of caseless driving. Our client retained his driving licence following the imposition of six penalty points and a modest financial penalty.
