Selkirk Dangerous Driving Not Guilty

Kept Licence
Selkirk Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was facing a charge of dangerous driving at Selkirk Sheriff Court where it was alleged that he crossed a solid white centre line and entered into the path of an oncoming motor lorry, thereby causing a collision which resulted in damage to both vehicles and injury to our client.

The incident had been captured on dash-cam so the question for the court was whether the standard of driving met the high test for dangerous driving or whether it fell within the ambit of the lesser charge of careless driving.

Our client retained his driving licence and received a six penalty point endorsement as a plea to the lesser charge of careless driving was tendered at the intermediate diet. The case was handled by our solicitor advocate, Gary Miller, at Selkirk Sheriff Court on 21 March 2022.
