Hamilton Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was captured on police dashcam footage travelling at 117mph in a 70mph limit in inclement weather.

He was charged with dangerous driving and sought our assistance.

Our Mr Simpson attended Hamilton Sheriff Court on 18th August 2025 and held a meeting with the police officers and the Procurator Fiscal Depute. The prosecutor decided that he wished to start the trial. Evidence was led and the witnesses were robustly cross-examined. During the trial, the prosecutor decided that he would in fact accept careless driving and a plea was tendered to the Court.

The Sheriff imposed 8 penalty points and fined him £1,040.
