Drink Driver Rehabilitation Course Granted Dumfries Sheriff Court

Reduced Sentence
Dumfries Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client instructed an early plea of guilty be tendered in connection with a drink driving charge at Dumfries Sheriff Court. The intoximeter produced a breath-alcohol reading in excess of 3 times the prescribed limit. The Sheriff in this case was persuaded to impose the statutory minimum ban of 12 months, together with a referral to the Drink Driver Rehabilitation Scheme. This entitles our client to a further 25% reduction on his disqualification if completed within the appropriate timeframe. 9 months for a breath-alcohol reading of 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath (the limit is 22 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath) represents a positive outcome in the circumstances.
