Perth Careless Driving Not Guilty After Trial

Kept Licence
Perth Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was accused of careless driving and failing to report an accident. The allegation was that he had passed too close to a pedestrian alighting from a vehicle, run over his foot, and made good his escape. The entire incident was captured on not one, but two dashcams.

The case called for trial on 4th June 2024 with our Mr Simpson in attendance. The Crown led evidence from the owner of the foot and his father. The video evidence was played repeatedly to the Court. The trial lasted the entire Court day. Both witnesses were robustly and expertly cross-examined resulting in a finding of Not Guilty in respect of all three charges before the Court.

Our client was free to go with no ban, no points, and no fine imposed.

Job done.
