Having pled guilty to driving without insurance, our client required to argue that special reasons existed (please refer to https://www.theroadtrafficlawyer.com/offences/driving-without-insurance for further information) in order to save his licence as he was a new driver and the minimum endorsement was 6 points. We successfully argued that special reasons existed not to endorse his licence with penalty points as he had been driving with the genuine belief that he was insured to do so. Consequently, no points were added to his licence and he was able to continue driving.
