Speed Camera A90 Charges - Kept Licence - Forfar JP Court A90

Our client was accused of speeding on 3 separate occasions on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee Road. He had been given a van by his employer and was advised - erroneously - that the van was legally entitled to drive at 70mph. Having relied upon that information our client was caught on three separate dates in a short space of time. He arrived home a few weeks later having received 3 NIPs. This would have resulted in a disqualification under the totting-up provisions as our client was already subject to 6 penalty points.

We were given the very clear task to save his licence.

We thoroughly investigated the case against him and found a number of technical lines of defence.

We negotiated with the Procurator Fiscal and were successful in having two of the charges dropped. Our client pled guilty to a single charge of speeding resulting in the imposition of 4 penalty points and a fine of £250.

He was able to keep his licence and his employment. Job done.

Sheriff Rejects Police Evidence In Speeding Charge

Our client was accused of speeding at 101mph on the M74. Despite stating that he was very experienced, one road traffic officer claimed that he could not tell the Court the difference between a saloon and an estate car. This was a great result. There was no risk to our client's licence and was defended solely on a point of principle....
