Speeding Case 62mph In 30mph Limit Deserted By Crown

Kept Licence
Edinburgh Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was charged with speeding at 62mph in a 30mph limit at Edinburgh Road, East Lothian. This type of speed would normally result in a period of disqualification and we were instructed to defend the case. Having identified a technical difficulty with the charge, the matter was deserted by the Crown at the trial diet. Due to the rules on timebar, the matter could not be prosecuted again for the matter and our client was effectively acquitted of the charge.
