Speeding Charge Paisley JP Court New Driver

Kept Licence
Paisley Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was accused of travelling at 54mph in a 30mph limit back in August 2020.

As a new driver, our client was worried that he would lose his licence and instructed us to try and secure the retention of his licence.

We examined the case and, for once, the Crown case seemed fairly well-prepared. We were able to negotiate a plea to a lower speed in order to ensure that our client would drive away with his driving licence in tact.

On 24th September 2021 our Mr Simpson attended at Paisley JP Court and tendered a plea in mitigation. The Justice of the Peace was suitably impressed and restricted the penalty point endorsement to 4 points and fined our client £150.

Job done.

There was no risk to our client's licence and was defended solely on a point of principle....
