Speeding Charge Stranraer Found Not Guilty

Kept Licence
Stranraer Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was running late for the Cairnryan to Belfast ferry. His job depended on his ability to drive and he contacted our Dumfries office for assistance. We were able to identify a number of technical defences to the charge and advised that he should enter a not guilty plea. Stranraer Justice of the Peace Court can often be a difficult place to secure an outright acquittal but following detailed, technical legal submissions the speeding charge was thrown out by the Justices. Our client was found not guilty of speeding and learned a valuable lesson about not trying too hard to catch the ferry at Cairnryan. Be aware! The police often lie in wait for speeding drivers in Stranraer around the ferry departure times. If you do happen to get a speeding ticket in Stranraer or indeed anywhere in Scotland, contact the road traffic lawyer for free comprehensive legal advice. If there exists a technical defence to a speeding charge we will find it.
