This matter called for trial in Glasgow on 19 November 2019. The case papers revealed a number of potential issues with the evidence and, whilst complacency can never be allowed to set in with this line of work, we were fairly confident that the case would result in an acquittal due to lack of evidence. That was indeed the outcome and our delighted client left court with his driving licence unscathed by the charge. This was quite a high alleged speed (80mph/50mph) and the case potentially put our client’s employment in jeopardy so we were delighted to have rewarded his faith in the firm with an acquittal.
