Dangerous Driving In Fort William

Kept Licence
Fort William Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

When our client was stopped by the police and accused of speeding near a rural primary school where a temporary 20mph speed limit was in force, he was mortified at having made such a mistake.  This was all the more so standing the fact that he had never been in trouble before and his driving licence was essential to his work.

We became involved when he received a court citation with the charge having been increased to dangerous driving at a speed well in excess of what he accepted to have been travelling at.  He now stood to lose not only his business but also the family home.

What goes up must come down, and with our involvement we were able to persuade the Procurator Fiscal to reduce the charge to the more-apposite careless driving at a speed more in keeping with our client’s position.  His licence was subsequently endorsed with a modest amount of penalty points and the ruinous consequences of a 12 month disqualification and compulsory re-sit order were avoided.
