Edinburgh Dangerous Driving 5 Penalty Points

Kept Licence
Edinburgh Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client's car was having problems and could not maintain a decent speed. A lorry driver took umbrage, resulting in reciprocal umbrage being taken by our client.

This culminated in a complete stop on the City Bypass and thereafter a chase down the hard shoulder... Our client was correctly charged with dangerous driving and Court dates were assigned. Oh, and the whole incident was captured on 2 dashcams.

Our Mr Simpson attended at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on the morning of the trial on 18th April 2024. Discussions took place with the Crown and the Depute was persuaded that a plea to careless driving would suffice.

Mr Simpson addressed the Court in mitigation and our client's licence was endorsed with only 5 penalty points for which was a pretty poor piece of driving.
